Bauchi Govt Hosts USAID, Pledges Commitment To Zero Maternal, Infant Mortality

Bauchi State Government says is committed to accelerating the reduction in preventable deaths of women and children across the state

The state Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela announced this while receiving a delegation of Global Affairs Canada and Unites State Agency For International Development USAID on a courtesy visit in his official, saying that the present administration in the state also initiated many that would enhance the well being of the people in the state

Baba Tela told the Delegation that, the state government remains steadfast with plans to provide funding into the MOU basket in the next year and continue to invest in other non-MOU health obligations to include Covid-19 response and other health emergencies.

According to Baba Tela Canada funded three million Canadian Dollars to the state government in order to strengthen the primary health care system and other interventions.

Speaking on behalf of the development partners, the team leader of Global Affairs Canada, Ranala Pistoni said they were at the state to access the level of projects funded by them and promised to continue offering interventions especially in the areas of health, education and social development.
