Miyetti Allah Decries How Secuirty Agents In Bauchi Extort, Arrest Herders

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Bauchi State Chapter has decried consistent arrest and extortion of money from innocent herders by security agents in Bauchi State, WikkiTimes report.

The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sadiq Ibrahim Ahmed stated this during the zonal meeting of the Association in Liman Katagum.

The Chairman said that the rate at which security agents in Bauchi State arrest and export money from fulanis and their leaders become a source of concern to them.

He recalled that some herders were arrested in Nabordo, Gadan Maiwa and Mararaban Liman-Katagum Markets of Toro, Ganjuwa and Bauchi LGs of the state. They were forced to give a huge amount of money before being released.

“We will support and assist security agents in tracing and fishing out suspects wherever they are so that no any criminal will go unpunished. But we will henceforth resist arrest of our innocent members.

“Our children are being killed like chickens. Let security agents have an acceptable and professional way of arresting criminals,” the Chairman said.

Alhaji Sadiq called on Fulani community in Bauchi State to unite and face the challenges of cattle rustling and kidnappings.

The Secretary of the Bauchi State Agency for Nomadic Education BASANE, Alhaji Ibrahim Ardo urged parents to send their children to schools to enable them aclamatise to modern way of livestock management.

He called on government to keep to its promise of improving nomadic schools for an improve teaching and learning.
