Police Arrest 3 Kidnappers In Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has stated that its operatives have arrested three suspects for criminal conspiracy and attempt to kidnap a businessman in the state.

The Command spokesman ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, said the suspects are Danlami Abdullahi (30), Maifata Galadima (18) and Fari Babangida (22), all of Madugu village in Akko Local Government of the state.

ASP Mahid Abubakar said the three suspects conspired and threatened to kidnap a businessman identified as Malam Babayo Umaru.

He explained that the command received a letter of complaint from Malam Babayo Umaru, a resident of Sisi-Bako village near Kalshingi, dated April 8, that on March 15, the suspects called him with a hidden GSM number and threatened to kidnap him.

On the 8/04/2022 a letter of complaint was received from one Malam Babayo Umaru that on 15/03/2022 at about 0800hours, an unknown person(s) called him with a hidden GSM number through his phone number (08144119645) and threatened to kidnap him. Operatives from State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) Gombe were detailed to investigate the case.

“The operatives swung into action where they tracked and arrested the above-mentioned suspects who confessed to the crime. Investigation is on-going, case will soon be charged to court for prosecution upon conclusion of the investigation”. The statement partly read.

ASP Abubakar said all the suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
