Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman Calls For Private Sector Investment To Improve Bauchi Education

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman has called on various communities in the State to come together and collectively strategize modalities to improve education and development.

He made the remarks during the 2nd Annual Convention of Tiffi Community Association for Educational Development which took place today at Tiffi Primary School, Ningi.

The Speaker stated that the effort put in place by Tiffi Community to enhance education and development is commendable and implores other communities in Ningi Local Government and the State in general to emulate the people them.

According to him, education is the backbone of any society and Tiffi has for many years excelled in education and unity hence the reason the sons of the area excelled in all spheres of life all over the country.

The Speaker added that achievements recorded by the Association have so much excited him especially for the fact that they are in tune with his policy of promoting education and helping the less privileged in the Constituency.

“What Tiffi Community Association is doing through community participation band contribution is like reducing the big burden on the government which will attract more and quick intervention from the government. We shouldn’t fold our arms and wait for the government to do everything, as a community we have a lot of roles to play toward our well-being.

“I made a donation to the association last year, and this year I double it. That’s how I will continue every year God willing.” He said.

Speaking earlier the Secretary of the Association Alhaji Hassan Mohammad explained that the Association was formed to address educational and societal challenges in Tiffi.

He narrated so many interventions offered by the association comprising financial assistance to less privileged, community-based projects and payment of school fees to many sons and daughters of the community studying in various higher institutions in the country.

Alhaji Hassan commended the Speaker for his concern for the plight of his people and the contributions he has been consistently given to the association.

Highlights of the Convention include speeches from illustrious sons of Ningi Local Government and award presentations.
