Bauchi Emir Cries Out, Request FG, Bauchi Govt To Fish Out His Attackers In Bogoro

The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to investigate and bring to book mobs who attacked his vehicle on his way to Bogoro, WikkiTimes reports.

The Official Car, Spare Car as well other vehicles on the convoy of the Emir were attacked on Friday 31 December, 2021 at the outskirts of Bogoro, the headquarters of Bogoro local government area of the state.

Addressing reporters on the attack in his palace on Tuesday, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu said the incident is a siege on the sanctity of traditional rulers in the state and the country as a whole, which ought not to be condoned by authorities and lovers of peace in the land.

The Emir who was represented by Galadiman Bauchi, Surveyor Sa’idu Ibrahim Jahun said the heinous siege came at a time when ‘peace is fragile in the state and indeed the nation’.

He said the attackers and their sponsors are bent to ‘disrupt the peace and tranquility we have been enjoying in the state by attacking the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass on their way to Bogoro town.’

The Emir said the attack is ‘provocative’ enough to trigger repraisal which, if not for the timely appeal for calm, would have sparked bloodshed.

“The Council has condemned in totality the incidence as it was barbaric, provocative and misleading.

“Several attempts were made by the miscreants on the convoys where cars were smashed including the spare car of the Emir of Bauchi and official car of the Emir of Dass which forced the Emirs to turn back in order to avoid Loss of lives and property.

“Peace and unity being prerequisites to any meaningful development therefore, we consider the occasion of 21st Memorial Anniversary of Baba Gonto will foster unity and cohesion among our communities.

“It is unfortunate at this modern era where peace is fragile in the state and indeed the nation, unpatriotic miscreants who do not wish the state well came out to disturb peace and tranquility,” Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu said.

The Emir urged Federal and Bauchi State Governments to expedite concerted actions to identify the attackers and punish them according to the provisions of extant laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the best of interest of peace, equality, fairness and justice.

He said Bauchi Emirate Council, “therefore called on the State Government to as a matter of urgency constitute a strong committee of investigation to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book.”

“The Council is appealing to the State Government to request the Federal Government to further investigate the matter in order to prevent the reoccurrence of this dastardly act anywhere in future, ” the Emir said.

Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu however commended the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to ensure and maintain peace in the country in general and Bauchi specifically.
