Lawyer Writes Bauchi Gov. Over Abandonment of ENDSARS Report

Al-Mufeed Law Firm, Bauchi, has lamented the abandonment of the report of ENDSARS panel in Bauchi state, by the state government.

The chamber in a letter addressed to the state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, by its principal partner, Barrister SG Idrees, recalled that when the governor inaugurated the ENDSARS panel in 2020, many peace-loving people in Bauchi state, thought that an opportunity for them to get a long waited for justice and redress over alleged police brutality has come.

He told the governor that the panel received several petitions, including the ones filed by lawyers who are as well victims of police brutality, and other helpless citizens who cherished the opportunity for quick, effective, and responsive justice delivery, hence the need for him to act.

The legal practitioner, who said that the report was ready for over six months, wondered why the governor has not received the report, yet, as some governors have already considered the reports of panels in their states.

Barrister SG Idrees drew the attention of the state governor, Bala Mohammed, to his responsibility to the people of the state, who trusted him with their lives and general well-being, and urged him to hasten things up before it is too late to rectify.
