NPC Kicks-Off Piloting Of 2022 Housing and Population Census In Bauchi

The National Population Commission, NPC commenced the fieldwork for the second pre-test exercise ahead of population and housing census to be conducted next year in Bauchi.

The Bauchi State Federal Commissioner of the commission Ibrahim Mohammed Darazo stated this in Bauchi during a press conference at the Nigerian Union Journalists Secretariat.

He said that the second pre-test exercise will be conducted in four hundred and forty-four enumeration areas in one hundred and forty-eight local government areas across the country.

The Commissioner said that in Bauchi State Ganjuwa, Gamawa, Katagum and Alkaleri Local Government Areas were selected for the exercise.

He noted that the exercise is aimed at testing the census methodologies, data collection and processing tools to enable the commission to improve on gay areas ahead of the scheduled National Housing and Population Census.

Alhaji Ibrahim said that the re-test exercise will last for eight days starting from 3rd to 10th December 2021.
