Sheikh Mustapha Baba Illela, Chairman Bauchi State Qur’anic Recitation Competition has said that the competition has a basis and roots in Islam contrary to insinuations making the rounds that it is unlawful.

He said Qur’anic Competition affords youths and children the opportunity to establish firm close ties with Allah thereby achieving great spiritual benefits and knowledge of the science of the Qur’an.

Sheikh Mustapha said this on Wednesday in Bauchi while speaking on Albarka Radio’s audience participatory programme, Gatarin Gwari.

The Chairman urged intended participants in the forthcoming Qur’anic recitation competition have been advised to join the competition with good faith and demonstrate good habits throughout the competition.

“The competition offers a great opportunity for all Muslims irrespective of their sectarian inclination and preference to come together under a common purpose,” he said.

He then used the medium to call on those saddled with the judging responsibility to discharge their responsibility diligently.

Alaramma Abubakar Muhammad Rariya who is the Bauchi State Coordinator of the Committee said the competition is very vital as it unveils the wisdom of the Islamic religion and that of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.

Abubakar Rariya then called the attention of those who misunderstood the concept of the competition to deter from such a negative perspective.
