9, Dead; 10 Injured in Bauchi Fatal Rood Crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Bauchi Sector Command, says nine passengers have died and ten others sustained serious injuries in a fatal road traffic crash along the Jama’are–Azare Road of Bauchi State

This was contained in a press release signed by Musa Kayo, Route Commander, Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Bauchi Sector Command of behalf of the sector Commander

The release indicated that preliminary findings shows the crash involved one commercial vehicle with registration number KTG 181 ZZ.

The car was said to be conveying a total of 19 passengers and travelling from Gombe to Kano at the time of the incident.

Although investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash, the release noted that initial assessments suggest that it may be connected to over-speeding, driver fatigue, and loss of control.

It revealed that injured victims were promptly rescued and conveyed to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare, by personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps for medical treatment, while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same medical facility.

Albarka Radio learnt that the Sector Commander Corp Cammander Apaji Boyi warned against irresponsible driving for minimal casualties when unavoidable accidents occur
