Bauchi, ICPC Join Forces to Ensure Transparency in Anchor Borrowers Programme

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has partnered with the Bauchi State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to combat corruption and ensure accountability in the distribution of Anchor Browers agricultural inputs.

ICPC Resident Commissioner in charge of Bauchi and Gombe States, Bello Idris Bakori, made this known while leading a strong team to various distribution centres in Bauchi.

Bello Idris Bakori stated that immediate action must be taken to address the diversion of items provided by the Federal Government, aimed at boosting agricultural activities, especially among peasant farmers.

He also warned businessmen engaging in illegal practices to desist immediately, emphasizing that the ICPC will not tolerate corruption.

According to him, the beneficiaries must receive their rightful share, as designed by the Federal Government.

On his part ,Bauchi State Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural Development, Professor Madugu Yalams, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborating with the ICPC to promote transparency and accountability in agriculture sector for the benefit of teaming farmers.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the ICPC and the state government for their intervention, promising to make good use of the agricultural inputs.

Correspondent Sani Adamu Musa reports that, the team visited Bauchi A and B distribution centres during their inspection.
