Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, promoting religious harmony, peaceful coexistence, and unity of purpose among citizens.
The Governor made this known on Sunday during the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) held in Bauchi State.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Affairs (Christian), Pastor Zakka Magaji, the Governor commended the Christian community for their steadfast support since he assumed office in 2019,while acknowledging the vital role they played in his election and re-election.
Governor Mohammed called on citizens to continue working together to sustain peace and unity, emphasizing that genuine development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.
Bauchi State PFN Chairman, Pastor Promise Nuhu Yohanna, in his remarks, commended the Governor for his inclusive approach to governance, describing Bauchi as a model of unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria. He lauded the administration’s developmental strides and the opportunities given to the Christian community to contribute meaningfully to state-building.
Pastor Yohanna noted that the 40th anniversary was not only a moment of reflection but also a celebration of service and legacy.
“They served in different capacities for the past 39 years in the PFN across the state, and today we are honouring individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the body of Christ,” he said, adding that various awards were presented to deserving personalities.
The PFN Chairman further appreciated the Governor for supporting four major PFN programs hosted at the Bauchi Stadium. However, he appealed for more assistance towards building a permanent PFN Secretariat in the state, while acknowledging the sacrifices and commitment of Pastor Zakka Magaji, the SSA on Christian Affairs, for his consistent support to the fellowship.
In a message delivered on behalf of the National President of the PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, the Fellowship reaffirmed its resolve to remain the leading voice of the Nigerian Church in advocating for justice, fairness, and freedom of religion.
The Bauchi celebration, themed “PFN: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” featured recognition and awards for past PFN leaders and faithful members who have contributed to the growth of the body of Christ in the state. It was a moment of thanksgiving, reflection, and renewed commitment to spiritual and social transformation in Bauchi and beyond.
