The First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has extended warm felicitations to women across the state and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 International Women’s Day, commending their strength, resilience and immense contributions to society.

In a goodwill message to mark the day, the First Lady celebrated the achievements of women in various sectors, acknowledging their vital roles in shaping families, communities and the future of the nation.

In a statement signed by her Chief Press Secretary, Zainab Garba Musa, the First Lady noted that women continue to demonstrate remarkable determination in overcoming barriers and making meaningful impacts in leadership, education, caregiving and innovation.

She said the occasion serves as a reminder of the invaluable contributions women make in every aspect of life, stressing the need for sustained efforts toward promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The First Lady also emphasized the importance of empowering women through improved access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities, in line with the 2026 theme of the global celebration, “Rights, Justice, Action for All Women and Girls.”

According to her, the state government under the leadership of Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed remains committed to implementing programmes and policies that provide women with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive and assume leadership roles in different spheres of life.

She further encouraged women to continue inspiring and supporting one another while working collectively towards building a society where gender equality, justice and fairness are fully realised.

The First Lady congratulated women on the occasion of International Women’s Day and urged them to celebrate their achievements while remaining steadfast in the pursuit of equality and justice.
