Albarka Radio has been honored with the prestigious Best Radio Station of the Year award at the First Anniversary of the Bauchi State Agriculture Stakeholders Interactive Forum, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to agriculture-related news reporting and programming.
The event, held in Bauchi, highlighted the critical role Albarka Radio has played in amplifying the activities of the forum and educating farmers across the state. The Chairman of the Forum, Rafilawus Yohanna Iliya, praised the station for its unwavering commitment to advancing agricultural discourse and promoting farmer education.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion and Special Adviser to the Bauchi State Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Ilyasu Aliyu Gital, commended Albarka Radio for bridging the gap caused by the inadequate number of agricultural extension workers in the state. He emphasized the station’s role in disseminating vital agricultural information that has empowered farmers and improved productivity.
Engineer Umar Ladan Salihu, the Managing Director of Albarka Radio, received the award on behalf of the station. In his acceptance speech, he reaffirmed Albarka Radio’s commitment to advocating for agricultural development through its various platforms. “We remain steadfast in our mission to serve as a voice for the agricultural community and a catalyst for productivity in Bauchi State,” he stated.
In a related recognition, Albarka Radio’s Agriculture Correspondent, Muhammad Sani Muazu, was awarded Best Reporter of the Year for his comprehensive and consistent coverage of agriculture-related activities in the state. His dedication to reporting on critical issues affecting farmers has earned him accolades from stakeholders and listeners alike.
The ceremony underscored the importance of media in advancing agricultural development, with Albarka Radio setting a benchmark for excellence in agricultural journalism.
