“Almuhibba Foundation and Northeast Development Commission Provide Timely Relief to Bauchi IDP Camp with Food Distribution”

The residents of Runde-Bin Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Bauchi were filled with joy after receiving food items as part of the ongoing food package distribution for vulnerable households.

The exercise, being conducted by Almuhibba Foundation and supported by the Northeast Development Commission, aims to reach approximately twenty thousand of the most vulnerable households, including disabled individuals, across the state.

This gesture comes just three days after an exclusive report by Albarka Radio highlighted the plight of the residents of Runde-Bin IDP camp, who had voiced concerns about the lack of basic amenities such as drinking water and access to health services.

In response, Almuhibba Foundation, the pet project of Bauchi State First Lady Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, swiftly extended the food distribution exercise to the only IDP camp in Bauchi state.

The camp’s leader, Alhaji Bulama Gujja, along with approximately five hundred other residents, commended the first lady for her timely intervention.

Bulama Gujja further expressed gratitude, stating that since being displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency six years ago from their homes in Borno state, Bauchi has become a second home.

He acknowledged the substantial support provided by the state government through the office of the first lady and Almuhibba Foundation, which has greatly contributed to making their stay in Bauchi more comfortable.

During the distribution exercise, Ali Duguri, the program manager of Almuhibba Foundation, highlighted that the food items distributed, including rice and maize, were aimed at alleviating poverty and addressing hunger among the residents.

Additionally, Ali Duguri expressed appreciation to the Northeast Development Commission for entrusting Almuhibba Foundation with this vital intervention and expressed hope that the distributed food items would be utilized effectively.ed effectively.
