BAHA Works and Transport Committee Visits New Commissioner

The Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA) Committee on Works and Transport has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah, to strengthen collaboration and ensure compliance with professional ethics in the sector.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Engr. Adama Garba Kawu, stated that the visit was to congratulate the Commissioner on his appointment by Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir. He emphasized the Committee’s commitment to supporting the Ministry in achieving efficiency and optimal service delivery for the state’s infrastructural development.

Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jamilu Ummaru Dahiru, urged the Commissioner to embrace inclusivity in leadership and remain focused on his mandate, avoiding distractions that could hinder performance. Similarly, Hon. Bala Abdu Rishi highlighted the importance of sincerity, dedication, and commitment to excellence, stressing the Ministry’s critical role in implementing road construction projects. He called for strict adherence to quality standards.

Hon. Saleh Zakariyya underscored the need for teamwork and effective monitoring mechanisms for ongoing projects. He emphasized that adherence to contractual agreements is essential for ensuring the durability and sustainability of infrastructure.

Responding, Commissioner Ketkukah expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the Committee of his commitment to delivering on the Ministry’s mandate. He pledged to incorporate their recommendations to enhance service delivery.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Mohammed Hamisu, commended the existing synergy between the Committee and the Ministry, attributing past successes to their collaboration. He described Ketkukah as a valuable asset with extensive experience in both education and administration, expressing optimism that his leadership would further strengthen the Ministry’s operations.
