Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, has expressed the ministry’s readiness to partner with international organizations to promote public health initiatives for students in the state.
Dr. Rimin Zayam gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving a delegation from Upswell, a global non-governmental organization known for its expertise in social media–driven public health advocacy. The team was led by Sarah Francis, Global Head of the organization’s Behavioral Lab.
Upswell, which works in partnership with the Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization (WHO), and UNICEF, focuses on digital advertising, campaign management, content creation, and community partnerships. Their visit to Bauchi was aimed at exploring collaboration on a social media campaign to boost awareness and uptake of HPV vaccination among school-aged children.

Commending the initiative, Dr. Rimin Zayam lauded Upswell’s commitment and pledged the ministry’s support.
“Our doors are open for collaboration to ensure our students remain healthy. Under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State has created a conducive learning environment. Not only will our social media platforms support your efforts, but we will also work with you in all ramifications,” he stated.
