Speaking during the launching ceremony held at the Government House Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed highlighted his administration’s achievements in the health sector, including the declaration of a state of emergency on health, increased budgetary allocation and investment in human resource development.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Sani Dambam, disclosed that no fewer than 1,000 people in the state have already benefited from hearing aid devices provided through the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation.
He also commended the efforts of Makka Specialist Eye Hospital and its partners for their commitment to supporting eye care services in Bauchi State, assuring that the state government will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of the programme.
In his remarks, the Regional Director of the Albasar International Foundation, Dr. Moheildin Abdullah, highlighted the organisation’s contributions through Makka Specialist Eye Hospital across Nigeria, including Bauchi, particularly in providing eye treatment and surgical interventions.
