Bauchi State Media Tour: Ningi Gets Major Road Projects as 22km Dual Carriageway, 4km Township Road Transform Local Communities

By Mubarak Aliyu Kobi

Communities in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State are witnessing a transformation in road infrastructure, as both urban and rural dwellers celebrate the progress of ongoing and completed projects under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed.

During the inspection tour of projects across the state, the contractor handling the 22-kilometer dual carriageway along the Bauchi-Kano road, Engr. Sulaiman Iliyasu of Mothercat Construction Company, revealed that the project has reached over 70 percent completion. He assured that the road would be delivered by December 2025, stressing that it is being executed in line with international quality standards, with provisions for culverts, drainage systems, and concrete shoulders to ensure durability.

Residents who trooped out to welcome the media team described the dual carriageway as a “face changer” that will not only ease traffic on the busy Bauchi-Kano corridor but also boost trade and improve safety for commuters.

In the same local government, the newly completed four-kilometer township road in Nasaru has already begun to impact lives. The Village Head, Malam Sa’idu Sarki, told journalists that before the project, residents faced enormous challenges in movement and accessing essential services. He hailed the intervention as life-changing, particularly in opening access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.

A resident, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, added that the road has enhanced economic activities, with farmers and traders now able to transport goods more easily, while local businesses benefit from increased mobility.

The media tour, led by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu Usman, alongside the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Muktar Giɗaɗo, is covering all 20 local government areas to showcase the developmental strides of the current administration.
