Christian leaders in Bauchi State have joined citizens nationwide to celebrate the stateâs 50th anniversary, praising decades of progress, unity and peaceful coexistence since its creation in 1976.
The Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Council of Nigeria described the Golden Jubilee as a remarkable journey from a local government area to a state experiencing steady growth and transformation.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Rev. Prof. Collins David Agbon, CCN noted that Bauchiâs development trajectory reflects resilience, vision and collective commitment of successive administrations.
The council expressed delight that the Golden Jubilee coincides with the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, describing the era as one marked by unprecedented infrastructural expansion across key sectors.
CCN further applauded the atmosphere of religious tolerance in the state, stressing that freedom of worship and mutual respect have strengthened peace and harmony among diverse communities.
According to the council, Christians in Bauchi remain appreciative, supportive and prayerful, pledging continued loyalty while asking for divine guidance to sustain peace and development across the state.
Similarly, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bauchi State chapter, hailed the anniversary as âCelebrating 50 Years of Progress, Unity and Peaceful Heritageâ for all residents.
In a statement signed by PFN Chairman, Pastor Promise Nuhu Yohanna, the fellowship reflected on five decades of growth driven by inclusive leadership and the collective effort of Bauchi citizens.
PFN emphasized that peaceful coexistence between adherents of Christianity and Islam remains one of the most significant achievements of the state, crediting inclusive governance for sustaining harmony.
As Bauchi clocks 50, both Christian bodies prayed for continued progress, prosperity and unity, urging citizens to strengthen bonds of peace while building a brighter future for generations to come.
