NIWOREN Supports Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Bauchi with Business Equipment.

In an effort to strengthen small-scale enterprises among rural women particularly those involved in oil extraction and food processing, the Nigeria Women Rights and Empowerment Network (NIWOREN), in collaboration with the Development Exchange Centre (DEC) and Brot für die Welt, has distributed essential business support materials to women in Kundum village Area of Bauchi Local
Government.

The distribution exercise is part of NIWOREN’s ongoing programme aimed at improving the livelihoods of rural women and enhancing their economic independence.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director of NIWOREN, Ada Samuel, said the intervention was designed to support women to become more self-reliant and to expand their small businesses.

She stressed that empowering rural women with the necessary tools and resources is crucial to improving household income and promoting community development.

According to her, NIWOREN would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure that women in underserved communities have access to opportunities that can improve their socio-economic well-being.

In her speech during the distributions, Mrs. Precious Ojonya, explained that the NIWOREN is a non-governmental organisation, committed to championing women’s rights, empowerment, skills acquisition, healthcare and education among others.

She urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items provided and emphasised the importance of creating a conducive environment for training and empowering rural women.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malama Gero Chiroma and Hindatu Nuhu expressed gratitude to NIWOREN and its partners for the support, noting that the gesture would significantly improve their livelihoods.

They pledged to use the materials judiciously and uphold the confidence reposed in them.

Items distributed include five spaghetti-making machines, fabricated flour-mixing machine, two bags of flour, ingredients for spicy pepper production,oil extraction and grinding machine,groundnut frying machine, bags of groundnut, sugar and pepper, as well as branding stickers, among others.
