NOA & SEC Join Forces to Empower Investors and Combat Financial Fraud

By Ude Ogbonnaya Israel

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) launched a Joint Committee to boost investor education and combat fraud.

This initiative was announced in a statement signed by Bala Musa, Director Communication and Media, NOA, and represents a shared commitment to promote financial literacy.

The collaboration aims to leverage NOA’s nationwide outreach and SEC’s expertise to protect investors and promote legitimate investments.

The inauguration meeting brought together teams from both agencies to set the foundation for a coordinated strategy.

NOA and SEC will work together to deliver critical investor education messages directly to Nigerians at the grassroots level.

SEC reported that Nigerians lost ₦1.5 trillion to unregulated investment schemes last year, highlighting the need for public sensitisation.

The agencies agreed to develop a national investor education strategy, deploy expert knowledge, and organise training programmes for personnel.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Nigerian investors and restoring public confidence in the capital market.
