The Sahelian Youth Forum for Good Governance and Advocacy (SYFGGA) has commended the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for respecting a Supreme Court judgment and taking steps to resolve issues with the State House of Assembly through dialogue.

In a letter dated March 7, 2025, Governor Fubara assured lawmakers of his commitment to addressing key governance concerns, including providing a suitable venue for Assembly sittings, settling outstanding remunerations, and ensuring the smooth passage of the state budget.

The governor has also scheduled a meeting with the Rivers State House of Assembly members on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Government House, Port Harcourt, in an effort to foster collaboration and strengthen governance.

Describing the move as a significant step toward stability and good governance, SYFGGA President, Comr. Aminu Harsanu Guyaba, urged lawmakers to engage constructively in the discussions to ensure lasting peace and progress in Rivers State.

The youth forum expressed optimism that the dialogue would lead to a productive resolution of the ongoing executive-legislative rift, ultimately benefiting the people of the state.
