Emir of Bauchi Tasks CAN on Peace, Religious Tolerance

The Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu has called on the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to ensure peaceful coexistence among both Muslims and Christians in the state ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He said religious groups as well as their followers must see the need to improve and sustain inter-religious harmony among them for Nigeria to prosper to the glee of all Nigerians.
The Emir said this on Thursday when Bauchi State CAN Chairman Reverend Abraham Dimues led the General Overseer of RCCG Pastor Enoch Adeboye to a courtesy visit to the Emir at his palace.
Alhaji Rilwanu assured CAN of his readiness to support relevant religious organizations in the state towards the peacemaking process.
The Emir who praised CAN leadership and other Christian communities for exhibiting good relationships with adherence to different faith in Bauchi,  charged them to sustain the tempo, for peaceful coexistence in the state.
He said the decision of CAN to choose Bauchi for its programme tagged: Light Up Bauchi clearly symbolises the extent of inter-religious tolerance and harmony prevents among followers of different faiths in the state.
The  General Overseer of RCCG pastor Enoch A Adeboye said the aim of the visit was to seek the Emir’s royal blessing and to offer a special prayer for the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu and his council members to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.
