ASUP BSCOA Elects New Executives: Engineer Abubakar Ahmed Re-Elected as Chairman

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Bauchi State College of Agriculture (BASCOA) chapter, has successfully conducted its election, with Engineer Abubakar Ahmed emerging victorious as chairman for a second term. He will lead the union for the next two years alongside a newly elected executive council.

The election, which was held in a peaceful and transparent manner, underscored the union’s commitment to democratic principles and its dedication to advancing the welfare of its members and the institution.

In his acceptance speech, Engineer Ahmed expressed deep gratitude to his colleagues for entrusting him with the leadership mantle once again. He acknowledged the challenges ahead and emphasized the need for unity and collaboration within the union to address critical issues.

“Let us focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. Our strength lies in our solidarity, and only through unity can we effectively confront the myriad of issues facing our institution,” he said.

Engineer Ahmed pledged to prioritize open dialogue, active engagement, and the promotion of collective interests, while committing to advocate for better working conditions, adequate funding, and improved standards in polytechnic education.

The election marks a new chapter for ASUP BASCOA as the union prepares to address the challenges facing the academic staff and contribute to the growth of the college.

In a goodwill message, Engineer Ahmed thanked members for their unwavering support and prayed for success in their collective efforts to make a lasting impact on the institution. He called for unity, solidarity, and dedication to the shared goal of achieving excellence in polytechnic education.

The newly elected executives are expected to hit the ground running in addressing key issues and fostering a conducive environment for teaching and learning at BASCOA.
