The allegations of booing the senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba have been described as baseless.
The senator’s aide, Ibrahim Ori who stated that he was an eye witness when senator Buba went for a condolence visit explained that “Our attention was drawn on a media Publication, that Senator Shehu Buba was booed over alleged neglect is not true.
“We would have ignored the report because even the writer wrote the story on allegation is not fair how can you have alleged alleged in almost all the paragraphs in his story, I believe professionally in the interest of justice where a reporter is not 100 percent sure of a story he should drop it,
“We don’t know the motive behind writing a story based on false speculation and mischief.”
According to Ori, “Shehu Buba visited Toro peacefully, he paid a condolence visit and donated N65,000,000,00 Sixty Five Million to his people in Toro.
“N50 million for Mosque building, N5 Million for the family of the deceased, N5 Million for elders and five million Naira for youths. He finishes his visit peacefully, we don’t know anything booing during the visit, if anything happened after he left should not be linked to him.”
He expressed worries that by publishing the story, journalists are deviating from their central role of national development through integrity, truth, and objectivity.
“Every professional journalist follows up to guide their work, particularly at a time when the country grapples with security and socioeconomic challenges.
“We know journalists have a vital role to play. Through responsible reporting and constructive storytelling, we can help shape public understanding, promote social cohesion, and contribute to the ongoing efforts to build a more secure and united nation, not through a mischievous writeup, “he stated.
Ori said senator Buba remains committed to due process and transparency in all legislative affairs and to give the people of Bauchi South
Senatorial district and the entire Bauchi State are a good representation.
