Bauchi Orders Temporary Closure of Schools, Tertiary Institutions Suspend Academic Activities Over Security Concerns

Academic activities across Bauchi State have been halted following a directive by the state government ordering the temporary closure of all schools due to rising security concerns.

In compliance with the directive, the Bauchi State College of Agriculture, through an internal circular signed by the Registrar, Bashir A. Sambo, announced the immediate closure of the institution. The circular, dated 24th November 2025, informed all staff, students, and the entire college community that the school would remain shut pending further instructions from the government.

Similarly, the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has also suspended all academic activities with immediate effect. This was disclosed in an internal memo issued by the Registry Academic Division and signed by Safiyo Yila, on behalf of the Registrar. The memo explained that the suspension followed the state government’s announcement directing the closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions across the state.

According to the memo, academic activities at the Polytechnic will resume on a date to be communicated in due course, while Heads of Departments have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directive.

The closure affects thousands of students and staff across the state, as authorities move to address the prevailing security situation.
