The Bauchi State 10th House of Assembly has extended heartfelt goodwill to Christians and the people of Bauchi State as they celebrate the joyous occasion of Christmas and prepare for the forthcoming New Year. The message, conveyed through the Assembly’s New Media Unit, Information, and Publication Directorate, highlights the festive season as a time of reflection, unity, and compassion.
In a joint statement signed by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Jamilu Umar Dahiru, the Assembly commended Christians for their unwavering commitment to promoting peace, love, and unity in the state. The leadership emphasized the importance of upholding the virtues of compassion, sacrifice, and togetherness exemplified by Jesus Christ during this season.
Rt. Hon. Suleiman lauded Bauchi State’s harmonious coexistence among people of different faiths, describing it as a cornerstone of the state’s stability and progress. He called on citizens to sustain this spirit of tolerance and mutual respect, which he said continues to drive the state’s development and societal growth.
“Christmas is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to peace and unity as a state. Let us continue to support one another and prioritize the collective good of our people,” the Speaker stated.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Jamilu Umar Dahiru, urged residents to celebrate responsibly and extend support to the less privileged. He assured citizens that the Assembly remains dedicated to advancing policies and legislation that enhance their well-being.
As the New Year approaches, the leadership of the Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to good governance, inclusive development, and the advancement of democratic values in the state.
