Bauchi, Nigeria — A coalition of young Nigerians under the banner of the Bauchi Youths Coalitive Forum has issued a strong declaration, calling on fellow youths across the country to reject self-serving political traditions and support a new wave of people-oriented leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a powerful statement titled “Enough of the Games: Nigerian Youths Must Rise for a New Political Dawn”, the Forum condemned what it described as years of manipulation and exploitation of youth energy by politicians who, they argue, are more interested in power than in progress.
“For far too long, Nigerian politicians—many of whom care little about the masses—have used the energy, passion, and strength of the youth as tools for their selfish ambitions,” the statement read. “They ride in luxury, parade with intimidating convoys, and live in vanity, completely disconnected from the hardship faced by everyday Nigerians.”
The Forum accused the political class of weaponizing poverty to keep citizens, particularly the youth, dependent and submissive. It emphasized that the time had come for a new political narrative—one rooted in integrity, accessibility, and genuine service to the people.
As part of their resolve, the Forum officially endorsed Malam Ja’afar Bauchi to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the upcoming 2027 elections, describing him as a man of humility, principle, and purpose.
“Malam Ja’afar is not driven by wealth or titles. He is a man of deep humility, accessible to the common man, and committed to carrying everyone along,” said Alaramma Sulaiman Muhammad (Hafizahullah), Secretary of the Bauchi Youths Coalitive Forum.
The group insisted their endorsement of Malam Ja’afar was not based on tribal affiliations or personal interests, but on the belief in his capacity to represent the people with sincerity and courage.
They further called on Nigerian youths—particularly in Bauchi—to reject the “old ways of politics” and rise with unity and purpose to support credible and people-focused candidates.
“Our future is not a gamble; it is a responsibility. And we must protect it with our choices,” the statement concluded. “Let 2027 be the year that Nigerian youths say NO to politics of vanity and YES to politics of value.”
The declaration has sparked conversations across social platforms in Bauchi and beyond, with many praising the youth-led initiative as a bold step toward reclaiming democratic accountability.
