Eid-el-Fitr: Wunti Urges Muslims to Sustain Ramadan Virtues, Promote Unity

By Muhammad Sani Muazu

A prominent technocrat and philanthropist, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a Sallah message, Dr. Wunti described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection and discipline, stressing that it goes beyond mere abstinence from food and drink.

He noted that the holy month serves as a time for nurturing the soul, strengthening patience, and embracing the mercy of Allah, urging Muslims to sustain the spirit of taqwa (God-consciousness) in their daily lives.

“The essence of Ramadan should not end with the fasting period. Its lessons must continue to guide our actions, decisions, and relationships,” he stated.

Dr. Wunti emphasized that the true significance of Eid lies not only in celebration but also in sustaining the virtues of compassion, charity, forgiveness, and self-restraint cultivated during Ramadan.

He called on Nigerians to remain committed to justice, peaceful coexistence, and support for the less privileged, noting that these values are essential for building a harmonious society.

The philanthropist further observed that national development depends not only on policies and institutions but also on the moral integrity of citizens.

According to him, Nigerians should leverage the lessons of Ramadan to strengthen unity, promote mutual respect, and bridge divides across ethnic, religious, and social lines.

Dr. Wunti also urged the Muslim Ummah to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of challenges, emphasizing that faith remains a guiding force in uncertain times.

He called on citizens to continue praying for the nation while upholding values of integrity, excellence, and service to humanity.

The message concluded with prayers for Allah to accept the fasts and acts of worship performed during Ramadan, forgive shortcomings, and grant peace, blessings, and prosperity to all.

The statement was signed by Usman Abdullahi Koli on behalf of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti.
