Federal Polytechnic Damaturu is set to undergo a resource inspection and accreditation exercise by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) this week.

The exercise, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, will cover the inspection of new programmes including Mass Communication, Crime Management, Law, Public Health, Environmental Management Technology, and Pharmaceutical Technology, among others. It will also involve the accreditation of existing National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes offered by the institution.

The Rector, Dr Ibrahim Bello Bashir, who disclosed this during an extraordinary meeting of the Management and Academic Board, noted that the NBTE team is expected to arrive on Thursday and depart on Saturday. He described the exercise as crucial to the institution’s growth and called for full cooperation from all stakeholders.

To ensure a smooth process, three committees have been constituted: Transport and Logistics, Feeding and Accommodation, and Monitoring and Evaluation.

The Registrar, Muazu Aliyu Iliyasu, also urged staff and students to demonstrate professionalism, commitment, and teamwork to achieve a successful outcome for the institution.
