Governor Bala flagged off 2.6km Road construction at Bauchi state University Gadau

Bauchi State Government is considering reducing the proliferation of campuses of State-owned Higher institution the Sa’adu Zungur University Gadau.

The state governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stated this during the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the construction of the 2.6km internal Roads project at the Bauchi State University main Campus Gadau.

According to him, the move is aimed at reducing the running cost of the campuses of Gadau, Bauchi, and Misau, to ensure quality services at the institution.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed said his administration has taken significant strides to enhance the welfare of students and teachers, and to improve the infrastructure across all the educational institutions in the state, adding that since the inception of his administration in 2019, his commitment to education has been unwavering, and it is reflected in the various policies and programs so far implemented.

According to him, in the pursuit of accessible primary education, the state has undertaken the construction of over five thousand classrooms thereby creating an environment conducive to learning for young minds. Also, In recognition of the pivotal role teachers and administrators play, they have been engaged in comprehensive training and capacity-building programs, forming partnerships with the Federal Government and donor agencies to uplift the standards of state educators.

The governor added that the state is Implementing new policies, particularly leveraging technology and robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms geared towards enhancing teaching and learning in the state.

He hinted that the present administration has successfully reduced waste and corruption in the state educational system, Thereby tangible results are evident, with the rate of candidates passing WAEC and NECO exams with at least 5 credits, skyrocketing from 30% in 2019 to an impressive 80% in the current academic session.

Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir reassured that the investment in educational reform and infrastructure will be distributed across higher institutions in the state. Re-echoeing that the state has provided land and buildings to support the establishment of new institutions by the Federal Government in Azare and Jama’are.

In her remarks, the Vice-chancellor, Sa’adu Zungur University Gadau Professor Fatima Tahir commended the governor for the support rendered to the university adding that the road network will aid teaching and learning and ease transportation difficulties within the campus.

Also speaking the Chairman Governing Board of the university, Professor Ango Abdullahi heaped praise on the governor in his effort to ensure the take-up of some additional new courses in the university which according to him will help the state in Bridging the manpower gap across various dealing.

Albarka Radio learnt that the project is to be delivered at the cost of N1.8 billion by Habib Engineering and it compasses solar-powered street lights with a water culvert.
