The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Committee (JCC) Bauchi Axis, has officially inaugurated its newly elected executive council, with Comr. Aliyu Musa assuming office as Chairman.
The inauguration ceremony, held yesterday at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, was well-attended by key stakeholders in education and security, student leaders from across Bauchi State, and university students from various institutions within the state.
Distinguished guests at the event included the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, Bauchi State; the Special Assistant on Student Affairs and the Special Assistant on Scholarship to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State; the Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS); as well as Student Union Government (SUG) Presidents and JCC Chairmen from across the state and the Northeast geopolitical zone.
A major highlight of the ceremony was an interactive session with the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration on the improvement of student welfare across campuses.
In her remarks, the Honourable Commissioner reiterated the Ministryâs commitment to placing student welfare at the forefront of its agenda. She described education as the cornerstone of development, assuring the new executive council and the student body that:
âThe welfare of students will be my first priority because education is key, and you are the leaders of tomorrow.â
She further pledged to protect the interests of all students in Bauchi State and urged the newly inaugurated executives to maintain a strong synergy with government agencies.
In his acceptance speech, Comr. Aliyu Musa expressed appreciation to the Governor of Bauchi State for his administrationâs dedication to education and student affairs. He pledged an inclusive, responsible, and result-oriented leadership, emphasizing the councilâs commitment to defending studentsâ rights and promoting academic excellence.

âThis executive is dedicated to the defence of studentsâ rights and the advancement of academic excellence. We will not take your mandate for granted,â he affirmed.
The event concluded with the formal presentation of instruments of office to the new executives, followed by a group photograph with dignitaries and student stakeholders.
