The office of the Bauchi state first lady is to collaborate with medical women’s Association of Nigeria, Bauchi state chapter in addressing the health challenges faced by women folks in the state.
The first lady, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Muhammad stated this when she received a delegation from the Association who paid her a courtesy visit in her office.
Aisha Bala Mohammed acknowledged the importance of accessing education and health care by women to enable them them make informed decisions about themselves and their immidiate communities towards improving their lots.
The first lady opined that Women Medical Association play a significant role in promoting public education and awareness around women’s health issues by organising a community outreach programs or engaging with the media to raise awareness about specific health issues affecting women.
Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad also informed the entourage that she had wanted to become a doctor in life, but Allah has not destined that for her, but as a mother and the founder of Almuhibbah Foundation, she will continue to work with the Association in helping people through medical line.
Earlier speaking, the president of the association Dr. Ummuhani Jafaru said they were at the first lady’s office to seek for partnership in addressing healthcare challenges facing Bauchi state especially women and children, considering the increase in the number of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality
The president also said the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria was founded in 1974 with the aim of improving women’s health through education and advocacy including community health screening programs hence the need to join hands with the office of the first lady in that direction.
The first lady also received in audience the youth sports federation of Nigeria (YSFON) where the chairman of the club Justice Abubakar Sambo said the purpose is to inform the first lady about the successes recorded by the club and the preparations on ground for the upcoming Sarauniya competition.
Responding, the state First Lady who is also the grand Mantron of the Club Hajiya Aishatu Bala Muhammad expressed her delight and assured the club of her total support.
