The Borno State Chapter of the Northern Coalition of Tinubu-Kashim Support Groups has called on the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The call was contained in a statement issued after a courtesy visit by the group to its national headquarters, where they were received by the leadership of the coalition.
In the statement signed by the State Coordinator, Hon. Aminu Mohammed, the group said the appeal was based on Kyari’s political experience and track record in public service, both at the legislative and executive levels.
According to the coalition, Kyari’s tenure as a senator and his current role as minister have demonstrated his capacity for leadership, effective governance, and commitment to people-oriented development.

The group further noted that his contributions to food security, agricultural development, and grassroots empowerment across the country have positioned him as a credible contender for the APC governorship ticket in Borno State.
“Senator Abubakar Kyari embodies the qualities of integrity, experience, and proven performance that Borno State needs at this critical juncture. His candidacy represents the best option for consolidating the gains of the APC and driving sustainable development in the state,” the statement added.
The coalition, therefore, urged stakeholders, party members, and the people of Borno State to support Kyari’s potential bid, expressing confidence that his leadership would promote progress, stability, and prosperity in the state.
