Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) across Jama’are, Ningi and Dass local government areas of Bauchi State have commended Dr Bala Wunti for humanitarian outreach to them after Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) distributed 450 bags to physically challenged persons in the areas.

The gesture formed part of the organisation’s humanitarian outreach programme targeting indigent families, with 150 bags of rice presented to beneficiaries in each of the local government areas to ease their hardship.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries in Jama’are, Malam Isa Muhammad Wazirin Makafin Jama’are, expressed gratitude to Wunti and the organisation for remembering persons living with disabilities.

He described the intervention as timely, noting that many vulnerable families struggle daily to meet their basic needs.

“We are deeply grateful to Dr Bala Wunti and his organisation for this support. It shows that persons living with disabilities are not forgotten in society,” Muhammad said.

He assured that physically challenged persons would continue to support initiatives that promote the welfare of vulnerable groups.

Similar commendations came from beneficiaries in Ningi, where Sarkin Makafin Ningi and Auwal Sarkin Kurame, commended Bala Wunti Support Organisation for what they described as a consistent commitment to addressing socio-economic challenges facing communities in Bauchi State.

In Dass, where another 150 families benefited from the programme, representatives of the beneficiaries, including Salihu Aliyu Wakilin Gabas and Malama Jamila Garba, appreciated Dr Wunti for prioritising persons living with disabilities and appealed for additional support such as vocational equipment and business capital to help them become self-reliant.

They noted that the outreach has brought relief and renewed hope to many struggling families.

Responding, Chief Finance Officer of BWSO, Dr Umar Dauda, said the initiative reflects the vision and values of Dr. Bala Wunti, who has consistently emphasised inclusivity and compassion in community development.

Dr. Dauda explained that Dr. Wunti specifically directed the organisation to prioritise persons living with disabilities in the ongoing statewide rice distribution programme, in a bid to support vulnerable members of society.
