NNPP Rejigs Leadership Structure in Bauchi to Strengthen Unity

December 22, 2025 3 minutes read

By Sani Adamu Musa

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Bauchi State Chapter, has announced a major realignment of its leadership structure as part of ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening party unity, improving organisational efficiency, and expanding its political presence across the state.

The announcement was jointly endorsed by the party’s Zonal National Vice Chairman for the North-East, Alhaji Bashir Yakubu Ahmad, and the Bauchi State Secretary, Dr. Abdullahi Garba Lame.

As part of the restructuring, Alhaji Abdulkareem S. Matori, formerly the North-East Zonal Secretary of the party, has been appointed as the new State Chairman of the NNPP in Bauchi State. Party leaders said the appointment reflects confidence in his leadership experience, strategic capacity, and commitment to grassroots mobilisation.

In a move aimed at ensuring continuity and institutional stability, the outgoing State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Aisana, has been appointed State Party Leader. The party noted that his political experience and institutional knowledge would help strengthen internal cohesion and guide its long-term strategic direction.

In furtherance of its commitment to inclusivity and balanced representation, the NNPP also appointed Hajiya Hauwa Abdullrahman Ammi as State Women Leader, while the immediate past Women Leader, Hajiya Hafsa Bello Katagum, was repositioned as Deputy State Women Leader.

The party also announced the redeployment of the former Bauchi South Zonal Chairman, Dr. Nuruddeen Fate, as State Financial Secretary, citing his administrative competence and leadership background. Similarly, Abdullahi Khalid Adamu was named the new Bauchi South Zonal Chairman to strengthen zonal coordination and political outreach.

Other appointments include Alhaji Tahir Shekh Aminu as Liaison Officer with Corporate Bodies and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and Kamal Muhammad as the party’s Publicity Secretary, positions the party said would enhance engagement, communication, and public relations.

The NNPP stressed that all decisions arising from the leadership realignment were reached through broad consultations and a transparent, democratic process, guided by the party’s long-term vision and prevailing political realities in Bauchi State.

Party leaders expressed confidence that the strategic repositioning has placed capable and credible individuals in key leadership roles, laying what they described as a solid foundation for unity, stability, and sustainable growth.

The party called on its members, stakeholders, and progressive-minded political actors to support the reconstituted leadership in order to advance the NNPP’s ideals and meet the aspirations of the people of Bauchi State.

It added that further reforms may be introduced as part of its transformation agenda to consolidate achievements and position the NNPP as a formidable, inclusive, and people-driven political platform in the state and beyond.
