ATBU Matriculates Over 3,000 Students

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi has matriculated over 3,000 students for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The matriculation took place at the school lecture theatre hall, which has an audience of deans of some departments that were given admission to the students.

Briefing journalists on the sideline of the event, the vice-chancellor of the university, professor Muhammad Ahmed Abdul’azeez, said learning and research cannot take place under an atmosphere of chaos, violence, rancour and others, saying that as a matter of policy, the university has zero tolerance for all kinds of vices and anti-social conduct such as cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse indecent dressing and so on, he totally abhors these behaviours and they attract stiff punishments.

He said the university through TETFUND and some donor agencies are doing their possible best to ensure an acceptable standard in the infrastructure and other educational facilities, as much as their lean finances will permit them to provide a conducive environment for meaningful academic work to take place.

The vice-chancellor also urged the students to support the university to archive its lofty goal of transforming them into job creators, not job seekers.

Professor Mohd Ahmed, therefore, advised the students to familiarize themselves with the do’s and donts of the environment to avoid un-ceremonial graduation and also pay due attention to their studies so as to archive their goals.
