Bauchi Govt Appeals For Calm As Sacked Revenue Collectors Fume

Bauchi State government has promised to act on the complaint laid by some youths who were engaged temporarily as revenue collectors in the mining sectors in the state.

Recall that the revenue collectors were disengaged from service for about three months under the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The report indicated that the development was also a result of government resolve to sanitize operations in the mining sector for effective collection of revenue.

A spokesman for the 20 youths, Abdullahi Hussaini who were laid off made their grievances known in Bauchi and urged the government to look into the issue for them to keep on with their activities.

Reacting to the complaints, the state Commissioner of Natural Resources Nurudden Abdulhameed confirmed the concerns of the disengaged revenue collectors and that government was doing everything possible to look into their grievances.
