The Bauchi State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with security agencies to tackle crime and ensure the safety of residents.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu, disclosed this during the ministry’s budget defense session before the State House Committee on Security. He emphasized that the collaboration between the ministry and security agencies has significantly reduced criminal activities in the state.
Bununu commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for prioritizing security in the state, describing the governor’s support as instrumental in creating an environment where citizens can sleep peacefully.
Reflecting on the ministry’s achievements, the Commissioner highlighted its remarkable performance in implementing the 2024 budget, despite being established less than two years ago.
Also speaking at the session, the Senior Special Assistant on Security and Director General of the Hunters and Vigilante Agency, Alhaji Umaru Shayi, noted that the agency has been working alongside other security outfits in conducting patrols and surveillance operations. These efforts, he said, have led to the arrest of several high-profile criminals, further bolstering security in the state.
