In a historic ceremony, the Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, was turbaned as the first Tauraruwar Misau by the Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmad Sulaiman. This marks the first time a woman has been bestowed with a traditional title in the Misau Emirate.
The turbaning ceremony, held at the palace of the Emir in Misau, was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, government officials, and residents from across Bauchi State.
Speaking at the event, the Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmad Sulaiman, highlighted the First Lady’s immense contributions to the less privileged in Bauchi State as the basis for her selection. He described her as an inspiration to women across the state and beyond, lauding her academic achievements, which she pursued after marriage, and her establishment of the first private open university in Northeast Nigeria.
“Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of the less privileged through her Al-Muhibba Foundation. Her focus on education, healthcare, agriculture, and skills acquisition has transformed lives and uplifted communities,” the Emir stated.
He further commended the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, for his developmental strides in Misau Emirate and across the state.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed gratitude to the Emir and the Misau Emirate for the honor, pledging to continue her efforts to promote humanitarian services and empower women and youths in Bauchi State.
