Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has set a national precedent by appointing more youths to key positions in government than any other governor in Nigeria. This bold move underscores his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive governance, positioning Bauchi State as a trailblazer in involving young people in leadership and decision-making.
Speaking during an interview with journalists, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources Development,Hon Muhammad Maiwada Bello, emphasized that Governor Muhammad’s administration has surpassed both his predecessors in the state and other governors across the country in integrating young people into government.
“The governor is committed to building a government that reflects the energy and innovation of the youth. No other administration in the country has given young people as many opportunities to serve in high-level positions as Governor Bala Muhammad’s,” Muhammad Maiwada Bello declared.
The governor’s youth-focused policy is evident across the state executive council, local governments, and advisory roles, with youths occupying critical positions and driving key policy implementations. Additionally, the governor played a pivotal role in supporting young candidates who contested for chairmanship and councillorship positions during the last elections, many of whom emerged victorious.
The Commissioner of Natural Resources Development, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, noted that these appointments and support are part of the governor’s broader vision to create a government that prioritizes fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. “Governor Bala Muhammad’s administration is a testament to his belief that young people are not just the future but are essential to shaping the present. He has created a platform for them to actively contribute to the development of the state,” Maiwada Bello added.
As the 2027 general election approaches, the commissioner called on youths across the nation to support Governor Muhammad in his bid to become Nigeria’s next president, arguing that his track record demonstrates a clear commitment to empowering young people.
“For years, youths have clamored for leaders who prioritize their interests and create opportunities for them to thrive. Governor Bala Muhammad has proven himself as such a leader. It is now time for the youth to rally behind him and ensure he takes this vision to the national level,” Bello urged.
Muhammad Maiwada Bello added that with Governor Muhammad as president, Nigeria would see a government that fully harnesses the potential of its youth population, fostering innovation, inclusion, and development across the country.
Observers believe that the governor’s youth-focused leadership has positioned him as a credible contender for the presidency, with his administration serving as a model of how inclusive governance can drive progress. Youths across Bauchi State and beyond are being encouraged to mobilize in support of his vision for a better Nigeria.
Governor Bala Muhammad’s rise to the presidency, according to supporters, would guarantee the continuation of policies that prioritize young people and ensure their active participation in shaping the future of the nation.
