The newly appointed Education Secretary of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Education Authority, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin Ibrahim, has officially assumed office, calling on staff to demonstrate commitment and dedication to their responsibilities.

During the formal handover ceremony held at the council chambers, Alhaji Ibrahim underscored the importance of hard work and accountability among staff members. He emphasized that their dedication is essential to justify the government’s substantial investment in education.

Alhaji Ibrahim reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption within the local education sector. He warned that his administration would not tolerate truancy, absenteeism, or laxity, stating that these issues undermine the goals of the education department.

In his remarks, Alhaji Ibrahim also urged parents to prioritize education over short-term financial gains. He highlighted that the benefits of schooling are lifelong and invaluable, encouraging parents to ensure their children attend school regularly.

In his valedictory speech, outgoing Acting Education Secretary Malam Abubakar Idris Gital expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Alhaji Samaila Wakili Ajiyan Lere, for his consistent support of the education department. He recalled the chairman’s recent donation of over two million naira to aid an enrollment campaign, praising his commitment to educational development.

The Executive Chairman, Alhaji Samaila, pledged his full support to the new Education Secretary, urging detractors to allow Alhaji Ibrahim to carry out his duties unimpeded. He also cautioned against rumormongers seeking to create division within the department.

The handover ceremony was well-attended, with a large crowd of well-wishers, family members, friends, and associates gathered to show their support for the new Education Secretary and his team.
