The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims and arrested six suspected kidnappers following a coordinated operation in Toro Local Government Area.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, and made available to journalists on Tuesday, said the operation was carried out on September 29, 2025, after the Command received a distress call from a vigilant community member about an abduction incident in Euga village, Toro LGA.

The victims — identified as Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal — were reportedly abducted by unidentified gunmen around midnight. Upon receiving the report, the Command mobilized personnel from the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, and Nabordo Division, with support from local security partners, to track down the suspects.

According to the statement, the joint team successfully engaged the abductors in a professional operation that led to the safe rescue of the victims without injury and the arrest of six suspects.

Those arrested in connection with the crime include:

Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar and Shehu Sambo

“The rescued victims have been joyfully reunited with their families and are in good health,” the statement added.

The police said investigations are ongoing to uncover the motive behind the abduction, while the suspects have begun providing useful information to assist detectives. They will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) Bauchi for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information that could assist the police in combating crime.
