Bauchi — Leaders of Islamic schools and Maulud singers in Bauchi State have commended Wunti Alkhair Foundation for its food distribution initiative ahead of this year’s Maulud celebrations.
The Foundation donated a total of 1,376 bags of rice to ease preparations, with 400 Islamic schools under Riyadul Islam receiving 632 bags, while 200 members of Shu’araun Nabi (singers) got 744 bags.
Chairmen of the two beneficiary groups, Malam Ibrahim Baba Karami and Malam Nasiru Sudani, described the support as unprecedented in the state, adding that it would reduce financial strain on members during the festivities.
“We are deeply grateful for the foundation’s support. This gesture will go a long way in easing our burdens and enabling us to continue our activities comfortably,” the leaders stated.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony in Bauchi, the Foundation’s volunteer media aide, Isiyaka Ismail Wunti, said the initiative was designed to ensure Muslims marked Maulud with ease and joy.
The Foundation’s legal officer, Umar Abubakar Magaji, added that the intervention aligns with Wunti Alkhair’s tradition of supporting the welfare of Muslims in Bauchi, recalling similar efforts during Ramadan and Eid-el-Kabir.
