130 Students Graduate from Al-Muhibbah Institute of ICT and Entrepreneurship: A Milestone for Bauchi’s Socio-economic Growth

In a remarkable event marking a new chapter in the socio-economic development of Bauchi State, 130 students have graduated from the Al-Muhibbah Institute of ICT and Entrepreneurship. The graduation ceremony, which celebrated the institution’s first cohort, highlighted the institute’s significant contributions to digital literacy and entrepreneurship, with a broader goal of empowering youths to drive innovation and economic growth.

The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, represented by the Deputy Governor, Muhammad Auwal Jatau. In his address, Jatau commended the institute for its efforts in shaping the future of Bauchi’s youth through accessible, high-quality education.

“It is a rare privilege to address you on this momentous occasion of the maiden graduation ceremony of Al-Muhibbah Institute of ICT and Entrepreneurship. Today, we are not only witnessing a significant milestone for the graduates but also for Bauchi State,” Jatau remarked. He extended the state government’s appreciation to the Chancellor of Al-Muhibbah Open University, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, for her foresight in establishing the institute.

Jatau emphasized the crucial role of education as the bedrock of a prosperous society, adding, “The effort of Al-Muhibbah Open University in creating accessible, high-quality education opportunities will transform the lives of students and uplift the standards of our communities.”

He reiterated the Bauchi State government’s commitment to fostering an environment that promotes learning and innovation, recognizing education as a cornerstone for growth, empowerment, and sustainability.

Representing the Chancellor and First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, was the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Child Development, and Social Welfare, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko. In her brief address, Takko conveyed the Chancellor’s congratulations to the graduates, expressing hopes that the knowledge and certificates acquired would serve them well in their future endeavors. She encouraged them to contribute positively to society.

“On behalf of the Chancellor, she wishes the graduates a happy graduation and hopes that the knowledge and certificates acquired will be useful to you and society at large. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors,” Takko conveyed.

Highlighting the significance of the graduation, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, stressed the importance of ICT and entrepreneurship in driving innovation and transforming communities. He revealed that 100 of the graduating students had been sponsored by the Bauchi State government through the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.

“ICT and entrepreneurship training is one of the top priorities of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad’s administration toward achieving job creation and economic empowerment,” he noted. “Today, we celebrate not only academic achievement but also the transformation these students have undergone, gaining the expertise necessary to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.”

In a historic announcement, the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Usman Danturaki, revealed that Al-Muhibbah Open University, the first private open university in Bauchi State, had been fully established and recognized by Nigerian authorities. He added that the university, which was born from the vision of Al-Muhibbah Institute, is now licensed to manage fourteen programs across various faculties.

“We are proud to inform the Governor and the people of Bauchi that Al-Muhibbah Open University is now fully operational and recognized as the first private open university in Bauchi State,” Danturaki said. “The University has made arrangements to integrate Al-Muhibbah Institute of ICT and Entrepreneurship as part of its structure, enhancing its operations and expanding its impact.”

The graduation ceremony not only celebrated the academic achievements of the students but also underscored the broader socio-economic implications of such initiatives. With the continued support of the state government and the visionary leadership behind Al-Muhibbah Open University, Bauchi is poised to see increased educational and economic opportunities for its youth, contributing to long-term development in the region.
