Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Thursday joined thousands of Muslim faithful at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, to mark the 2025 Maulud Celebration in honour of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The colourful event brought together top government officials, Islamic scholars, and worshippers from within and outside the state.

In his address, Governor Mohammed urged clerics to continue praying for leaders, stressing that peace, compassion, and love remain the enduring legacies of Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized that only through unity and mutual understanding could Bauchi and Nigeria achieve sustainable progress.
The governor announced that the Qur’anic school he is constructing for the Tijjaniya sect, estimated at over ₦2 billion, is nearing completion. He further donated three cars to the leaders of the Zikirai, Tijjaniya, and Ishiriniya sects, in addition to an 18-seater bus, a Toyota Hilux, and a Peugeot 406 to enhance their religious activities.
In a separate gesture, Governor Mohammed also provided 600 bags of rice to Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi to support this year’s Maulud celebration.
The First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, also addressed the gathering. She appealed to parents to instill discipline and moral values in their children while monitoring their peer groups. To underscore her message, she recited Suratul Fatiha and Amanan Rasul.
Representing Sheikh Tahir Usman Bauchi, Sheikh Shehu Tahir Usman expressed appreciation to the governor for his consistent support to the Tijjaniya order and the wider Islamic community. He described the governor’s interventions as a significant boost to the promotion of Islamic values and religious harmony in the state.
