Bauchi governor swears in 24 Commissioners, creates three new ministries

Bauchi state Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has presided over the swearing in of 24 Commissioners as members of his cabinet, tasking them on accountability, transparency and good governance.

The Commissioners took oath of office administered by the state Cheif Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar at the Government House Bauchi.

Governor Bala Mohammed charged them to work in line with his administrations vision of delivering a new Bauchi state.

The governor implored them to play important roles in building Bauchi, expedient in the area of critical infrastructure.

Bala Mohammed is optimistic that their appointment will bring prosperity, human development and grassroot democracy.

Announcing the portfolios, governor Bala Mohammed said Ibrahim Gambo Ibrahim will take charge of Ministry of Works and transport, Maiwada Bello, Ministry of Natural resources, Hajara Yakubu Wanka, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and Mahmoud Baba Ma’aji Commerce and Industry.

Others are, Danlami Ahmed kawule, Housing and Environment, Ahmed Sarki Jalam, Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, Religious Affairs and Social Reorientation, Usman Danturaki, Information and communication, While Abdu Hassan to oversee culture and tourism and Lydia Tsammani, Higher Education.

Still on the list Dr. Yakubu Adamu, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Muhammed Salees, Youth and Sports, Moddibo Abdulkadir Ahmed, Power, Science and Technology, Faruk Mustapha, Rural Development and Special Duties, Hajara Gidado, Ministry of women Affairs and Child Development while Abdulhamid Bununu to oversee Security and internal affairs.

The rest are, Aminu Hamayo, Budget and Economic planning and Multilateral Coordination, Hassan El-Yakub SAN, Ministry of Justice, Muhammed Hamisu Shira, cooperatives and SMEs, Professor Simon Yalams, Agriculture, Jamila Dahiru, Education, Dr Adamu Umar Sambo, Health, Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, water resources and Amina Muhammed Katagum, Lands and survey.

Albarka Radio observed that three new ministries were created, which are Higher Education, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and security and internal affairs.
