The member representing Kirfi Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Barrister Habibu Umar, has distributed vehicles, motorcycles, equipment, and cash to residents of Kirfi Local Government Area as part of a large-scale empowerment programme aimed at improving livelihoods and economic self-reliance.
Speaking during the empowerment exercise, Barrister Habibu Umar congratulated beneficiaries and urged them to utilize the items judiciously for personal growth and the overall development of Kirfi Local Government.
“I congratulate those whom God has chosen to benefit today. I urge you to use these items to improve your lives and contribute meaningfully to the development of Kirfi,” he said.

The lawmaker appealed for understanding from residents who were not selected in the current phase, explaining that it was impossible for everyone to benefit at once.
“Even if I were to carry out this empowerment in my own household, not everyone would benefit. We carefully considered all zones and wards in Kirfi to ensure fair distribution across the local government,” he explained.
Barrister Habibu Umar assured constituents that the empowerment initiative would continue and promised a larger intervention in the future.
“By the grace of God, the next phase will be even bigger than this,” he added.
Items distributed during the programme included vehicles, 32 motorcycles, 15 grinding machines, 15 sewing machines, 20 Point-of-Sale (POS) machines, ₦100,000 cash grants to several beneficiaries, and 10 mobile phones.

The Wamban Bauchi and District Head of Kirfi, while addressing the gathering, commended Barrister Habibu Umar for what he described as a people-oriented and exemplary leadership style. He urged residents whose names were not listed to remain patient.
He said the empowerment programme reflected the goodwill, sincerity, and commitment of the lawmaker to the welfare of his people, noting that the people of Kirfi were proud of him.
The traditional ruler also praised Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his continued support to the constituency and thanked other dignitaries in attendance, including Hon. Usman Adamu Sufi, former governorship aspirant, for his contributions.
Several beneficiaries received items during the event. Hon. Usman Adamu Sufi presented a Peugeot 406 vehicle to Hon. Tukur Adamu, with additional cash support. Alhaji Yahya Umar Cheledi also received a vehicle from Hon. Sufi.

The Wamban Bauchi handed over grinding machines to Malam Lawan, the Imam of Wambai, and Malam Yahya Yusuf Dambori, while the PDP Chairman in Kirfi LGA presented an empowerment item to Malam Adamu Abubakar, Imam of the Market Mosque.
A vehicle was also presented to Umar Aliyu Bara, Personal Assistant to Barrister Habibu Umar, while Hon. Bala Abdullahi, representing the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, presented another vehicle and cash support to Abdulhadi, Special Adviser to the lawmaker.
Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, Tukur Adamu described the empowerment programme as record-breaking, calling on other leaders to emulate the gesture.
He said the people of Kirfi were known for unity and cooperation, adding that while not everyone could benefit at once, such initiatives always rotate.
“Today it may not be your turn, tomorrow it will come. Leaders should be prayed for, not abused, because insults often return to us,” he said.
He urged leaders to remain close to the people, stressing that sharing even little resources attracts divine blessings.
The empowerment programme was widely attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, party officials, and community members, who described the initiative as a significant boost to economic activities and social cohesion in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
