BSADP Urges Agriculture Graduates to Establish Private Firms, Seed Companies

By Aisha Sanusi Mohammed

The Programme Manager of the Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme (BSADP), Malam Ya’u Muhammad, has called on agriculture graduates in the state to venture into private extension services and seed production companies as a pathway to wealth creation and self-reliance.

Malam Ya’u, who gave the advice when he received members of the Agriculture Graduates Association of Nigeria (AGAN), Bauchi State chapter, in his office, said the time had come for graduates of agriculture to stand on their feet and harness the vast opportunities in the sector.

He explained that through private extension services, agriculture graduates could educate farmers on modern practices, while seed production and value addition would enable them to package and market quality seeds. He assured that BSADP was ready to partner with such initiatives by linking them with farmers across the state.

Speaking on behalf of AGAN, Muhammad Sani Mu’azu commended BSADP for its continuous support to the association and pledged closer collaboration in line with their shared vision of promoting agriculture in Bauchi State.

Mu’azu revealed that AGAN is already making arrangements to conduct more sensitization programs for farmers and herders, aimed at improving agricultural productivity and peaceful coexistence.

Also commenting, a member of the delegation, Abdussalam Khalid, said their visit to BSADP was to seek guidance and strengthen ties with the agency, which he described as the mother institution for agricultural and livestock development in the state.
