Communities in Bogoro, Tafawa Balewa, Dass, and Toro Local Government Areas of Bauchi State have expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for the construction of road projects that are transforming their lives and boosting socio-economic activities.
In Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa, residents of Boi and Tapshin narrated years of suffering before the construction of the 11.2 kilometre road linking the two communities. One of the residents, Mr. Istifanus Barde, recalled how they once spent two days stranded with a corpse due to flooding at Tapshin River. He explained that such ordeals were common, especially during the rainy season, when the river cut off access between the two towns.
According to him, the completion of the new road and bridge has drastically eased movement, reducing what used to be hours of struggle to just a few minutesâ drive. Another community member, Madam Astra John, said the project has restored life to the people by improving access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.

Speaking during the ongoing media tour of projects across the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State, the Supervisor Engineer of the project, Mr. Ado Shehu, confirmed that the road has been completed and put to use. He assured that the quality of work will ensure durability and long-term service to the communities.
Similarly, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, described the road linking Dass and Toro Local Government Areas as a life-changing development. He explained that the project has reduced a four-hour journey to less than thirty minutes, making movement easier and more productive.
The royal father emphasized that before the intervention, residents faced untold hardships as the deplorable state of the road hindered access to markets, schools, and hospitals. He said the new road has boosted economic activities and strengthened social ties between Dass and Toro communities.
In addition, the Emir commended the ongoing rehabilitation and upgrade of his palace as well as the construction of a dual carriageway in Dass metropolis. He said the projects will not only ease urban traffic but also enhance the status of the town.
Both residents and traditional leaders pledged their continued support for the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed, describing the road projects as a restoration of dignity, hope, and opportunities for rural communities across Bauchi State.
